Demographics in our society reflect a rapid expansion in the 65 and older age group. Healthcare needs of this segment of our population are exceeding an already overburdened system for providing long-term and end-of-life care, resulting in very high burn-out and personnel turnover rates in these domains and causing reduced quality of care. We believe this trend can be reversed by providing more support for its caregivers.
The goal of the WellSelf Retreat is to improve the quality of care in geriatrics, long-term care, and hospice by serving those who provide the care.

The WellSelf Solution
Plans for the WellSelf Retreat in the Portland area are underway. Its purpose is to improve health care quality through a multi-disciplinary program which focuses on supporting the health and wellness of caregivers. It is an ongoing retreat for caregivers, providing respite and education. Its plan is to be integrated with local longterm and hospice healthcare delivery systems. By doing so we can reduce burnout rates, improve quality of care, and control costs of healthcare for this segment of our population.
